#1465 title : The Don Covay worldwide discography category : website design description : Don Covay website and worldwide discography Sky Ranch Records, 1992 : I am lucky to work on the reissue of the album 'Different Strokes for Different Folks' by Don Covay, originally out in 1972. Back then, Don's singing and approach to blues & soul music was a revelation to me. His excellent songwriting have been approved by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Solomon Burke, Steppenwolf, Bobby Womack, Wilson Pickett, The Small Faces, to name a few, and his voice's influence on Mick Jagger's is more than obvious, but I always felt Don Covay was one of the most under-rated soul artist. He sings brilliantly, and probably has more fun and creativity than most of his pairs. I have built these few pages for him and for the curious souls which I hope can stop by and discover this music and the man behind. Sadly, Don Covay passed away in early 2015. add to current selection:
